Wang Cong blames eye poke for poor performance in UFC 332 title fight

Following a five-round women's flyweight championship bout at UFC 332, challenger Wang Cong pointed to a first-round eye poke as the primary reason for her sluggish start against titleholder Natalia Silva. Despite finishing the match strongly enough to capture some late round scorecards from the judges, Wang ultimately dropped a unanimous decision to Silva in Salt Lake City.

UFC executive Dana White noted after the event that the Chinese contender might regret her hesitant early strategy, which allowed the Brazilian champion to secure the victory.
