Following the conclusion of the three-match series against the West Indies, Hanuma Vihari expressed serious apprehension regarding the current state of India's bowling depth. Although the hosts secured the series victory, they failed to defend a total of 351 during the final fixture, allowing the visiting side to chase down the target inside the 49th over.
Vihari highlighted that the absence of key pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya severely affected the quality of the attack.
In his evaluation of individual contributors, Vihari noted that bowlers such as Gurnoor, Nitish, Mohammed Siraj, and Naman performed at a modest level, while Kuldeep Yadav appeared uncharacteristically ineffective. He also observed that backup seamers like Anshul Kamboj struggled to find their best rhythm, though he anticipates Prasidh Krishna will secure a regular spot in the squad going forward.
