Middleweight miss! Sean Strickland was ‘ready to go’ for UFC 335 before BMF swerve

UFC 335 is officially scheduled for December 12th at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, featuring a headline bout between Charles Oliveira and Diego Lopes for the BMF championship. However, that matchup served as a pivot after discussions for a middleweight title defense between Sean Strickland and Nassourdine Imavov ultimately fell apart.

MMA Mania reported that Strickland was fully available and healthy following a recent 60 m.p.h. side-by-side ATV rollover crash that left him uninjured.

Although a crash caused him to bounce his head off the ground, negotiations failed over financial compensation rather than any physical ailments. Strickland confirmed on social media that he sought a higher payout for facing Imavov compared to his previous career-high payday against Khamzat Chimaev at UFC 328.
