New Seattle Seahawks owner Vinod Khosla recently declined to rule out a potential relocation of the franchise during an interview with Axios journalist Dan Primack. When asked about the team's long-term future centuries from now, Khosil remarked that he would never say never, though he stressed that he has no immediate intentions to alter the coaching staff, front office, or stadium operations.
Khosla noted that he purchased the franchise just three months ago and remains in a learning phase regarding sports management.
Despite the lack of current relocation plans, the organization faces a critical deadline with its venue agreement as the current lease at Lumen Field is set to expire in 2032. Observers suggest the remarks may serve as early leverage in upcoming stadium politics to secure public funding for future facility renovations or a replacement arena.
Khosla acknowledged that he still has much to learn about running an organization after unexpectedly acquiring a Super Bowl-winning club.
