Vic Fangio talks about the Eagles’ plan at safety

Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio addressed the media on Wednesday regarding the team's defensive preparations for their upcoming matchup against the Rams and the current status of the secondary. Fangio explained that Marcus Epps and Michael Carter are slated to share the safety duties through a direct rotation rather than situational usage, while noting that newly acquired defensive back Kenny Moore is not expected to step into that role immediately since he has never played safety professionally.

Addressing defensive performance metrics, the coordinator acknowledged low turnover numbers and a lack of sacks, suggesting that opposing quarterbacks releasing the ball quickly has limited their pass rush impact. He also detailed plans to improve ball-drills for the defense by utilizing jugs machines and quarterbacks capable of throwing with high velocity.
