The matchup, which began on October 17, 2026, marked only the second season for the Valkyries franchise.

Williams delivered a standout performance in the team's 68-64 victory, scoring 26 points to secure a 1-0 series lead. Head coach Natalie Nakase highlighted Williams as a key closer, describing her as one of the best players globally who is willing to take over crucial moments.
