Valkyries' 'Extra Inch' Effort Was Deciding Factor in Comeback Win to Eliminate Wings

The Golden State Valkyries punched their ticket to the WNBA semifinals by defeating the Dallas Wings 77-73 in the third game of their playoff series at Chase Center. Despite losing a sixteen-point advantage built during the third quarter, the winning side overcame shooting struggles through relentless defensive pressure, hustle plays on the glass, and a crucial replay challenge won by head coach Natalie Nakase in the final moments.

Dallas player Arike Ogwunbowale pointed to her squad's failure to match that level of intensity as the deciding factor in letting the victory slip away, concluding that their opponents simply wanted it more. The elimination marks the end of a postseason run that provided valuable rookie experience for Paige Bueckers, whose shooting was heavily restricted by the opposing defense, alongside teammates Awak Kuier, Azzi Fudd, and Alanna Smith.
