The UFC has announced a late co-main event for UFC Vegas 123 on October 31, replacing an injured Carlos Leal. Welterweight Jacobe Smith, undefeated with an 8-0 record, will step in on short notice to face Randy Brown.
Smith, who secured his UFC contract after a second-round stoppage of Christien Savoie in 2024, has since dominated opponents with a perfect finishing record, including a first-round knockout of Bruce Whitehead at UFC 332 and a second-round submission of Niko Price at UFC 317. His most recent victory came just under a month ago, preserving his streak against Whitehead, while also earning a *Performance of the Night* bonus for stopping Josiah Harrell in February.
Brown, a veteran with 22 UFC fights and nearly a decade in the promotion, seeks to break a two-fight losing skid after back-to-back defeats to Gabriel Bonfim and Kevin Holland. The 36-year-old has faced future title contenders like Belal Muhammad and Jack Della Maddalena, though his recent struggles have left him searching for a rebound.
Smith’s quick return and Brown’s need for a win make this a compelling matchup to cap off the Halloween card.
