UFC Vegas 122 referee took a point after the first foul in the main event. He explains why

Brendan Allen secured a victory over Christian Leroy Duncan in the main event of UFC Vegas 122, which took place at the Meta Apex in Las Vegas on October 10, 2026. Allen finished the contest with a rear-naked choke in the fifth round, ending a close battle that lasted nearly the full duration.

Following the stoppage, Allen publicly called out former champion Dricus du Plessis. The bout drew attention for a specific officiating decision, as the referee deducted a point from a fighter after the first foul occurred during the main event.

The official provided an explanation for why the point deduction was applied in that instance. Meanwhile, Duncan stated that the loss did not change his approach, describing his next step as returning to work.
