UFC Hall of Famer Demetrious Johnson raised eyebrows this week by questioning why Movsar Evloev remains on the UFC roster despite his lack of stoppage victories. Evloev, a 20-0 featherweight contender with a 10-0 UFC record, has never finished a fight inside the Octagon—his 10 wins all came by decision.
Johnson, who spoke on the *Precision Podcast*, compared Evloev’s situation to that of recently released middleweight Michael Page, who was let go partly due to a perceived lack of excitement in his fighting style. Despite Evloev’s undefeated streak, Johnson expressed surprise that the UFC hasn’t cut him, especially given his zero submissions or knockouts in the promotion.
The debate comes as Evloev prepares to face UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 333 later this month, a title shot he’s pursued for years. Volkanovski, also on the podcast, acknowledged Evloev’s struggles, noting the long road he’s taken to this opportunity and admitting he feels sympathy for the contender amid past criticism from fans and media.
