The New York Knicks have narrowed their preseason roster competition to two players ahead of Thursday’s final preseason game. Centers James Wiseman and Bruce Brown remain in contention for the final roster spot, following the team’s decision to waive three other non-guaranteed players: Drew Eubanks, Tony Bradley, and Ochai Agbaji.
Eubanks’ season was cut short by a torn pectoral muscle, while Wiseman has emerged as the frontrunner after a strong preseason performance, including an 18-point, 10-rebound effort in Tuesday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors. The Knicks, lacking depth in the frontcourt beyond Karl-Anthony Towns and Andre Drummond, are prioritizing Wiseman’s center role, though retaining both Wiseman and Brown would require a trade to free up cap space.
Brown, a versatile combo guard, has also impressed in camp and holds the most NBA experience among the non-guaranteed players still in consideration.
