New England Patriots running back TreVeyon Henderson suffered a high ankle sprain during Sunday’s game against the Las Vegas Raiders, forcing him out of the contest and extending his absence from the team. The injury marks a recurrence of the same issue that sidelined Henderson in the season opener against Seattle, where he missed the game entirely after sustaining the sprain during training camp.
Through four games this season, Henderson has contributed 163 rushing yards on 42 attempts, including a single touchdown in his Week 2 debut against Pittsburgh. With his return timeline uncertain, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel indicated Henderson’s status would be reassessed soon, though reports suggest he could be out for multiple weeks.
The team’s upcoming schedule—including a home matchup with the Jets and a Thursday Night Football road game against Chicago—will proceed without Henderson, placing added responsibility on Rhamondre Stevenson in the backfield. New England may also explore addressing its running-back depth, as Myles Montgomery remains the only other healthy back on the roster beyond Stevenson and injured players.
