Tour of Guangxi: Frits Biesterbos surprises favourites on stage 2 for Picnic PostNL's first WorldTour victory of the season

Frits Biesterbos secured a breakthrough win for Picnic PostNL on the second stage of the Tour of Guangxi, marking the team's first WorldTour triumph of the year. He timed his effort perfectly to overtake Paul Magnier, who had initiated his sprint too early and ultimately settled for second place.

Olav Kooij completed the podium in third, while Magnier maintained his overall lead in the race. Earlier in the day, a breakaway attempt involving Martin Tjøtta, Dries De Bondt, Jhonatan Narváez, and Javier Romo was neutralized before the peloton contested the finish.

Additionally, Jhonatan Narváez, Pau Miquel, and Tom Pidcock successfully claimed bonus seconds during the intermediate sprint in Huadong. The competition continues with a 212.3km stage from Jingxi to Bama.
