Tosh Lupoi Willing to Change Coaches' Roles to Fix Cal Offense

Following a string of poor performances by the California Golden Bears offense, head coach Tosh Lupoi stated that he plans to review all three units and is willing to modify coaching responsibilities. Although he did not directly address whether offensive coordinator Jordan Somerville will retain play-calling duties, Lupoi emphasized that no individual is above the institution and that output must meet necessary standards.

Cal currently sits at two wins and two losses, ranking near the bottom of the Atlantic Coast Conference in scoring once the defense's contributions and a blowout victory over Wagner are excluded. The unit has failed to score a single point in the fourth quarter across its three FBS matchups this season, placing intense scrutiny on the coaching staff as the schedule progresses.

Possible internal alternatives to take over play-calling include quarterbacks coach Nick Rolovich, who previously managed offenses at Hawaii, and passing game coordinator Pat McCann, who held coordinator duties at Fresno State.
