Top 5 Iowa Wolves of All-Time

The Iowa Wolves, now under Timberwolves ownership, trace their roots back to the Iowa Energy, a G League affiliate that began with the Chicago Bulls and Miami Heat before Minnesota’s purchase in 2017. Though the franchise has only secured one championship in its 19-year history, their 2011 title run remains legendary.

Led by league MVP Curtis Stinson, the Wolves defeated the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in a thrilling series finale, securing their lone G League crown. Stinson’s dominance was bolstered by standout performances from Michael Haynes (39.4 MPG, 21.0 RPG), Stefhon Hannah (35.8 MPG, 6.0 SPG), and Shy Ely (25.1 MPG, 4.3 APG), forming the core of a historic postseason push.

Despite later additions like Othyus Jeffers and Courtney Sims, their absence didn’t diminish the team’s historic achievement.
