Titans GM Mike Borgonzi: Never planned to trade Jeffery Simmons, Bears called us last night

Following earlier comments on Wednesday from Jeffery Simmons indicating he had no anticipation of a move for the 2026 season, the defensive standout was sent to Chicago by Tennessee. Titans general manager Mike Borgonzi explained that discussions culminated late Wednesday night when Bears general manager Ryan Poles presented an offer involving two first-round selections.

After consulting with franchise owner Amy Adams Strunk on Thursday morning, Borgonzi finalized the transaction to secure future assets for the organization.
