As the 2026 regular season concluded, Major League Baseball announced the standout performers for September across both leagues. Carter Jensen of the Kansas City Royals captured both American League Player of the Month and Rookie of the Month honors, wrapping up his rookie campaign by leading qualified hitters in OPS and setting rookie marks in extra-base hits.
In the National League, Elly De La Cruz of the Cincinnati Reds secured Player of the Month after achieving a historic 30-30 season.
On the pitching side, Freddy Peralta of the Tampa Bay Rays earned AL Pitcher of the Month following a dominant stretch of starts, while Jared Jones of the Pittsburgh Pirates took home NL Pitcher of the Month with an exceptionally low WHIP and numerous scoreless outings. Additional monthly accolades went to Cole Carrigg for NL Rookie of the Month, Cade Smith for AL Reliever of the Month, Mason Montgomery for NL Reliever of the Month, and Jensen once more for his rookie milestones.
