While the WTA Finals have historically been dominated by multiple-time major champions, five players have managed to secure the year-end title without ever winning a Grand Slam. Sylvia Hanika became the first to achieve this feat in 1982, followed by Agnieszka Radwanska in 2015 and Dominika Cibulkova in 2016.
Elina Svitolina joined this group in 2018, and Caroline Garcia became the most recent addition after her 2022 victory in Fort Worth. Despite their success at the season-ending tournament, none of these athletes were able to capture a major trophy during their careers, with most reaching at least one final or semi-final stage at a Grand Slam event.
