The St. Andrews Links Collegiate delivered a dramatic conclusion to its stroke-play rounds on Tuesday, setting the stage for Wednesday’s high-stakes match-play finals on the legendary Old Course.
On the men’s side, Texas golfer Daniel Bennett secured the individual title with a three-shot victory, despite tough conditions on the Jubilee Course. Bennett’s opening-round 64—marked by six birdies—gave him a two-shot lead, and though he finished at 76 on Day 2, his early dominance proved decisive.
Meanwhile, the women’s competition saw Farah O’Keefe of Texas and Hannah Ounap of Washington tie for medalist honors at 2 under par, marking the first co-medalists in tournament history. Both players navigated challenging winds and rain, with O’Keefe posting a 73 and Ounap a 74 after strong opening rounds.
The team standings also crystallized, with Texas and host St. Andrews advancing to the championship matchups on the iconic Old Course, where Bennett and O’Keefe will look to add to their individual success with team glory.
