Mathile Walker secured the Division II-A girls' state golf championship by carding rounds of 74 and 73 at the Sevierville Golf Club. The junior, who also operates a baking business called Lena's Loaves, credited her success to the same methodical adjustments she uses to perfect her cookie recipes.
Her performance helped Evangelical Christian School earn a runner-up team finish, and she was later honored as the 2026 All-Metro girls' golfer of the year by The Memphis Commercial Appeal. Freshman teammate Sophie Kay Butora also competed for the school during the tournament.
