Tennessee football, Josh Heupel had no answer for Texas' defense in loss | Adams

Top-ranked Texas secured a 20-17 victory over Tennessee behind a dominant defensive performance led by Colin Simmons, who recorded five of the team's ten sacks. The Volunteers struggled significantly on offense throughout the contest, managing only 70 rushing yards while freshman quarterback Faizon Brandon faced relentless pressure and injuries.

Despite a late touchdown drive connecting Brandon to Mike Matthews and a punt return score by Qua Moss, Josh Heupel's squad ultimately fell short.
