The nostalgic indoor football competition known as the Tennent's Sixes is staging a comeback, bringing together former stars and current players in a throwback format. Organizers have lined up notable participants including Barry Ferguson managing Rangers alongside figures like Charlie Adam, while Aiden McGeady and Rudi Skacel also feature.
Back in the era when top-flight clubs treated the tournament with utmost seriousness, legends such as Davie Cooper and John Collins lifted the trophy, and Brian Clough even brought Nottingham Forest to Scotland to compete. Partick Thistle famously claimed victory in 1993 without their manager present, celebrating with sponsor tankards filled at a local Glasgow nightclub.
Decades later, participants are preparing to lace up their boots once more at the weekend event.
