Tampa Bay 98ers – Rays 3, Phillies 7

The Philadelphia Phillies defeated the Tampa Bay Rays 7 to 3 on a rainy Sunday afternoon at Citizens Bank Park. Kyle Schwarber sparked the Phillies with a two-RBI double during the second inning as his club fought to avoid a near-historic collapse.

Meanwhile, the Rays treated the contest as a tune-up following their 98-win regular season. Starting pitcher Nick Martinez worked two and two-thirds innings, allowing four earned runs before Ian Seymour and Jesse Scholtens took over in relief.
