The Seattle Seahawks are hosting veteran running back Joe Mixon for a scheduled tryout as the franchise deals with multiple injuries in its backfield. Mixon is traveling to the Pacific Northwest to demonstrate his physical readiness following a season spent entirely on the non-football injury list and his subsequent release from the Houston Texans.
Seattle currently faces backfield limitations with rookie Jadarian Price on injured reserve and Zach Charbonnet working his way back from a torn ACL, leaving the active roster to lean on Emmanuel Wilson, George Holani, and Velus Jones Jr. ahead of their matchup against the Chargers.
Mixon posted a social media hint featuring an hourglass emoji over the weekend ahead of the visit, aiming to resume a career that includes five thousand-yard rushing campaigns since entering the league as a second-round selection out of Cincinnati in 2017.
