Sussex end season with win at relegated Hampshire

Sussex wrapped up their County Championship campaign in style by defeating local rivals Hampshire by 197 runs on the third day of play at Southampton. Captain Tom Haines led the charge with a brilliant century, reaching the milestone right away on the third morning, while teammate Tom Price dismantled the opposition batting order with a stellar five-wicket haul.

Hampshire struggled mightily throughout the match, falling to 26 for 4 by lunch and eventually being bowled out for 238 in the final session, sealing their last-place standing in Division One. Despite starting the season with a twelve-point penalty, Sussex secured nineteen points from the fixture to comfortably clinch a top-three finish.
