Studs and Duds from Commanders shocking tie vs. Giants

Washington opened the game with a first‑drive touchdown, putting quarterback Jayden Daniels back in the spotlight as the offense showed early promise. Defensive standouts included safety Jeremy Reaves, who played with notable effort, linebacker Sonny Styles who recorded 13 tackles with a tackle for loss and a pass defensed, and defensive tackle Daron Payne who added a sack and forced a crucial overtime fumble on Giants running back Cam Skattebo.

Guard Sam Cosmi, returning from a concussion, delivered solid blocking, highlighted by a key block on a 38‑yard touchdown run.

The second half unraveled for the Commanders, culminating in an overtime period that ended in a tie. Head coach Dan Quinn and backup quarterback David Blough were criticized for poor clock management and questionable play calling, with fans booing the coaching staff as they left the field.
