Indian left-arm spinner Manav Suthar has rapidly proven his adaptability across varied cricketing conditions and balls in recent months. His Test debut in June against Afghanistan at Mullanpur saw him use the SG ball, while he later took five or more wickets in Sri Lanka’s Galle series with the Kookaburra.
Most recently, he shone for Warwickshire in a County Championship match at Chelmsford, bowling with the Dukes ball. Suthar emphasized the importance of quick adjustments, noting he practices with the specific ball and studies conditions like wind and wicket behavior before matches.
With New Zealand’s unpredictable climate in mind, he’s reviewed footage to prepare for the India A tour, focusing on every aspect of the game—from ball movement to pitch drift. His prior experience with the Kookaburra in Sri Lanka will further aid his transition to New Zealand’s conditions.
