India A’s tour of New Zealand has seen a last-minute change to the wicketkeeping role after Rishabh Pant suffered a left-side strain while leading Rest of India in the Irani Cup. The injury has ruled him out of the first two multi-day matches, prompting the selection committee to bring in Kumar Kushagra as his replacement for the Lincoln and Christchurch fixtures.
Dhruv Jurel remains captain of the side, which will face New Zealand A in three matches, with the first two scheduled for October 24–27 in Lincoln and October 31–November 3 in Christchurch. Pant’s fitness for the third match, running November 7–10 in Lincoln, will be reassessed later, leaving his availability uncertain for now.
The rest of the squad remains unchanged from the original announcement, featuring a mix of experienced domestic players and emerging talent.
