San Antonio guard Stephon Castle surprisingly downplayed the atmosphere at Madison Square Garden following the NBA Finals. He remarked that the crowd noise fell short of expectations and actually ranked behind the volume generated by Oklahoma City fans earlier in the postseason.
During the five-game series against the Knicks, which ended in a championship victory for New York, Castle shot 37.7 percent overall though he did post a standout 23-point performance in Game 3. Teammate Victor Wembanyama also reflected on the team's struggles to maintain leads during the championship round, pointing to execution lapses and a drop-off in aggression during second halves.
