Spurs and Thunder scuffle after De'Aaron Fox's hard foul on Chet Holmgren

The Oklahoma City Thunder defeated the San Antonio Spurs 116-104 in their 2026-27 season opener. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander led the way with 32 points, while Victor Wembanyama struggled with a career-worst start, missing his first 12 shots.

Physicality defined the matchup, as De'Aaron Fox threw Chet Holmgren to the floor, triggering a fight involving Jaylin Williams, Jalen Williams, and Wembanyama. Four players received technical fouls during the altercation, which added to a rivalry fueled by San Antonio's 8-4 record against OKC over the last year, including a Western Conference Finals victory.
