Iga Swiatek has officially concluded her difficult 2026 season early, a decision that follows her withdrawal from the Ningbo Open and confirms she will miss the WTA Finals. Throughout the year, the six-time major champion navigated coaching transitions from Wim Fissette to Francisco Roig and faced various physical setbacks, resulting in early exits at all four Grand Slam tournaments.

Despite these struggles, she managed to secure a victory at the Canadian Open in Toronto. Rennae Stubbs has suggested that Swiatek needs to diversify her tactical approach by incorporating feel shots, such as drop shots and high-trajectory balls, to improve her versatility against opponents.
