Fifteen-year-old cricket prodigy Vaibhav Sooryavanshi has earned a spot on Time Magazine's annual Time100 Next compilation, highlighting emerging global figures who are expected to shape various industries including sports. As the youngest individual included on the roster and one of just seven sports figures selected, the Indian athlete joins competitors such as Arch Manning, Tyrese Maxey, Naomi Girma, Folarin Balogun, Alexandra Eala, and Olivia Miles.
Sooryavanshi previously made sporting history during a 2024 auction when the Rajasthan Royals secured his services at age 13, subsequently setting records as the youngest participant to notch a century in men's T20 cricket following his debut the next year. Time chief executive Jessica Sibley praised the group for challenging boundaries and expanding horizons globally.
Musical artist Raye is scheduled to perform during the annual celebration on October 29 in New York, which will also feature other honorees.
