Clarence Seedorf, the legendary Dutch midfielder and four-time Champions League winner, is returning to football as a head coach after an eight-year hiatus. He has signed a contract with Brazilian club Corinthians, extending through the end of 2027, taking over a team currently sitting 16th in the top flight with eight matches remaining.
Seedorf replaces Fernando Diniz, who was dismissed last week following a dismal stretch of seven consecutive league losses. His last coaching experience was with the Cameroon national team in 2016, with prior spells at AC Milan, Shenzhen FC, and Deportivo La Coruña yielding mixed results.
Seedorf, now 50, expressed his commitment to rebuilding Corinthians into a competitive unit, emphasizing a relentless, battle-ready approach. The squad he inherits includes former Manchester United stars Memphis Depay and Jesse Lingard, adding star power to the project.
