SEC football recruiting rankings entering October

As the recruiting calendar rolls toward October, the SEC dominates the national prospect rankings with half of the top ten spots claimed by conference members, led by the top-ranked Texas A&M program. Georgia bolstered its 2027 class by landing top junior college defensive back Alius Mayo, who reversed his pledge from California to become the Bulldogs' first cornerback addition for that cycle and push their group to ninth nationally.

Meanwhile, traditional powerhouse Alabama sits unexpectedly down at thirty-seventh overall after recently losing a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Anthony Blalock, while Tennessee continues climbing the leaderboard following a slow beginning to the cycle.
