Ryan Weathers returns for ALDS in ‘massive’ Yankees bullpen role

The New York Yankees added pitcher Ryan Weathers to their roster for the American League Division Series against the Tampa Bay Rays. Weathers spent the final month of the regular season recovering from a left forearm flexor strain and was omitted from the wild-card round to complete his rehabilitation.

Manager Aaron Boone expects Weathers to serve in a relief capacity, pitching short stints to maximize his velocity following a recent live batting practice session. Additional left-handed relief options available in the bullpen include Brent Headrick and Ryan Yarbrough.
