Alessia Russo has secured the England women's player of the year accolade after collecting fan votes during an impressive 2025-26 international campaign. The Arsenal striker surpassed Chelsea duo Lucy Bronze and Hannah Hampton to claim the honor for a second time, having previously won it two seasons ago.
Russo featured across all ten matches for her country this term, finding the back of the net five times including a strike in last week's 3-1 World Cup play-off semi-final first leg victory against Greece. Following the award announcement, the forward expressed deep appreciation for the supporters and her colleagues.
England will look to secure their progression when they welcome Greece to the King Power Stadium for the return fixture on Tuesday.
