Philadelphia is shifting its quarterback hierarchy ahead of the upcoming weekend matchup against Los Angeles. Tanner McKee is ascending to the backup role behind starter Jalen Hurts, a position previously occupied by Andy Dalton over the preceding three games.
Dalton had previously stepped onto the field during the third week of competition when Hurts underwent concussion evaluations while the offense marched downfield in the second quarter. During that appearance, Dalton suffered an interception thrown to Chicago defensive player Dillon Thieneman inside the scoring zone, contributing to a 27-7 defeat that brought the team record to two wins and one loss.
Meanwhile, reporting indicates that both McKee and separate roster considerations will keep multiple athletes active due to health setbacks rendering others unavailable.
