Remco Evenepoel has concluded his debut campaign with Red Bull-Bora-Hansgrohe by outlining several adjustments for the 2027 season, including a delayed start and a more targeted schedule. During a reflective interview at the Chrono des Nations, the Belgian rider highlighted the high points of his year, such as claiming thirteen victories, securing second place behind Tadej Pogačar at the Tour de France alongside two stage wins, and capturing a record-equalling fourth time trial world title, the European road race championship, Clásica San Sebastián, and the Grand Prix Cycliste de Québec.
Despite the strong start that featured numerous early triumphs, Evenepoel acknowledged lingering frustrations from sub-par climbing performances at the UAE Tour and Volta a Catalunya, as well as late-season disappointments at the World Championship road race and Il Lombardia. To address the fatigue that hindered him in the closing moments of those autumn events, he recently executed a grueling seven-hour endurance training session.
Looking ahead to the subsequent campaign, the twenty-six-year-old plans to avoid the congested racing calendar that characterized his early months with his current squad, ensuring a more measured approach to competition.
