Rees-Zammit to return to wing for new season

Louis Rees-Zammit has confirmed his intention to focus primarily on the wing in the upcoming term while remaining available to cover full-back for both Bristol and Wales. The 25-year-old had rejoined the sport the previous summer following a nearly two-year hiatus pursuing an opportunity in the NFL.

Both Bristol director of rugby Pat Lam and Welsh head coach Steve Tandy routinely stationed him at number 15 starting in the autumn.

Reflecting on that transition on Rugby Union Weekly, Rees-Zammit noted that he spent about three-quarters of the past year adjusting to full-back after such an extended absence from competitive rugby. Having anticipated that the year would present significant hurdles, he believes leaning back into his long-standing familiarity with wide play will provide him greater stability moving forward.
