England head coach John Mitchell remains confident in his squad's long-term trajectory despite a tight Test match against Canada that left the series leveled at 1-1. The clash began similarly to their prior World Cup final encounter last September, which England won 33-13, as Canada opened the scoring inside the first ten minutes before the Red Roses struck back immediately.

However, England struggled to maintain command this time around, failing to score during a continuous 20-minute offensive push, while the gap between the two sides never exceeded a single try.

Skipper Meg Jones praised the thrilling nature of the encounter, highlighting the intense back-and-forth flow while admitting England must refine their strategic decision-making.
