Red Wings' Dylan Larkin booed by fans after trade request

Detroit captain Dylan Larkin faced a hostile reception from home supporters at the team's opening event while sidelined by an upper-body injury. The veteran forward, who recently requested a deal away from the franchise, was introduced alongside other inactive players before being retroactively placed on the injured list dating back to mid-August.

Larkin parted ways with his leadership role following a campaign where the squad missed the postseason once again, and he has since expanded his preferred destinations to include several new franchises while carrying a multi-year deal.
