Ravens film study: Zion Young stepping up after Tavius Robinson injury
The Baltimore Ravens' defense showed flashes of promise in a 36-10 loss to the Buffalo Bills last Sunday, despite the team's quarterback struggles. Rookie outside linebacker Zion Young stood out with his ability to disrupt running lanes and maintain gap integrity, even though his box score was modest.
Young recorded one tackle, one assist, and one pass rush pressure while achieving a perfect pass-rush win rate on true pass attempts. His physicality and technique were on full display, including a standout play where he engaged two blockers simultaneously to disrupt the Bills' offensive timing.
With Tavius Robinson sidelined, Young is poised to take on a larger role as Baltimore’s starting outside linebacker on early downs, leveraging his length, power, and defensive versatility to set the edge and control the point of attack. His development as a pass rusher also remains a key area of focus, as his power and emerging move set could further elevate his impact on the defensive front.
