Ranji Trophy 2026/27 round two, day two: India spinner takes hat-trick in match-winning 10-wicket haul

October 20, 2026

The Ranji Trophy’s second round delivered a mix of dramatic finishes and dominant performances across all three groups. In Group A, Vidarbha secured a thrilling three-wicket win over defending champions Jammu & Kashmir after a tense 79-run chase, while Uttar Pradesh sealed a victory over Goa with a 10-wicket haul, including a five-wicket haul from Zeeshan Ansari.

Meanwhile, Madhya Pradesh’s Rajat Patidar anchored a 345-run total, but Pondicherry fought back to reduce the deficit to 70 runs by stumps. Baroda also posted a commanding total of 416, with Mangal Mahrour’s 138 proving pivotal in their win over Bihar.

Group B saw Assam wrap up a nine-wicket triumph over Tripura, while Chhattisgarh faced a daunting 127-run deficit against Punjab after being forced to follow on. Andhra’s chase against Hyderabad faltered early, leaving them at 7-2 in pursuit of 398, while Saurashtra held a slender seven-run lead over Karnataka as the day concluded.

Group C featured Bengal’s six-wicket win over Services, led by Pradipta Pramanik’s match-defining bowling figures, and Kerala’s commanding 358-run lead over Odisha. Maharashtra’s Ruturaj Gaikwad dominated with a century, but Jharkhand’s resilient 130-1 at stumps kept their first innings deficit at 358 runs.

Gujarat and Delhi’s match trended toward a draw, with Ayush Badoni and Priyansh Arya combining for a massive 416-run partnership in Delhi’s second innings.
