RAMalytics: One reason why Rams’ passing game feels anemic

The Los Angeles Rams have stumbled to a one and two start this season due to underwhelming performances across the roster rather than bad luck with injuries or officiating. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has struggled significantly in the early going, while the offensive line regressed in pass protection and targets like Colby Parkinson have disappeared from the box score.

Defensively, contributors such as Kobie Turner, Braden Fiske, Byron Young, Aaron Donald, and Nate Landman have all failed to meet expectations. Beyond Los Angeles, the modern NFL passing game is facing a league-wide downturn as defenses increasingly rely on two-high safety looks and light boxes to limit explosive plays and force longer, more patient drives.
