Following a disappointing finish in the recent Indian Premier League tournament, the Punjab Kings organization has confirmed the departures of fast-bowling instructor James Hopes and fielding coach Brad Haddin. Both staff members chose to step down to accept new roles within domestic cricket leagues in Australia, with Hopes taking charge of Queensland alongside the Brisbane Heat and Haddin assuming leadership of the New South Wales men's squad.
This turnover adds to previous staff changes following the conclusion of the campaign, which saw spin coach Sairaj Bahutule also exit the franchise to take up a position with the national team. Head coach Ricky Ponting will now need to reconstruct a substantial portion of his support staff before preparations begin for the upcoming tournament.
