Promotion-chasing Northants trail against Derbyshire

Derbyshire established a 62-run first-innings advantage after bowling Northamptonshire out for 310 on day two at Wantage Road. The home side initially seemed well placed at 97-0 and 187-2 thanks to half-centuries from Ricardo Vasconcelos (58) and milestone skipper Luke Procter (54), followed by a lively 46 from Saif Zaib.

However, the innings unraveled when concussion/injury replacement Nick Potts claimed consecutive scalps to remove Gus Miller and Zaib before the interval, before Brett Randell ripped through the lower order with the second new ball on his way to figures of 3-48.
