Indian batter Prithvi Shaw has taken a deliberate step back from public life to sharpen his focus on cricket and personal growth. The 26-year-old, who made his international debut in 2018 with a Test century against the West Indies, has reduced social media activity and public appearances to minimize distractions.
Shaw, who last played for India in July 2021 across five Tests, six ODIs, and one T20I, now centers his life around self-improvement, family, and cricket. He revealed he avoids public outings due to unwanted attention, preferring solitude to recharge—often spending free time playing video games like *GTA*, *FIFA*, and *Tekken*, or using cricket simulations to mentally recover after poor performances in matches.
His recent return to domestic cricket saw him captain Maharashtra in their 2026-27 Ranji Trophy opener against Services at Palam, where he scored 70 in the first innings and led his team to a decisive win by guiding them through a 248-run target in the fourth innings. Shaw’s tactical decision to rely on spinners over in-form pacer Mukesh Choudhary proved pivotal, as Services were bowled out for just 120 despite Maharashtra losing over a session to rain.
