Napoli back McTominay to stay amid Real links - gossip

Scott McTominay’s future at Napoli appears secure despite persistent speculation linking him to Real Madrid, according to the club’s sporting director. Giovanni Manna has confirmed that contract extension talks are actively underway, suggesting the 29-year-old Scotland midfielder remains committed to staying in Serie A.

Meanwhile, the financial stakes remain high, with McTominay currently valued at £34 million—the highest among Scottish players and the 35th most valuable British footballer globally, according to recent market assessments.

Off the pitch, former Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Duncan Ferguson has emerged as a leading candidate to take over as Glentoran’s next head coach. The appointment would mark a return to Northern Irish football for Ferguson, who has previously managed in the region.

Separately, Middlesbrough manager Kim Hellberg has attributed Connor Barron’s limited playing time on loan from Rangers to the typical adjustment period many summer signings face when breaking into Championship starting line-ups.
