Preston return 'surreal' and 'special' - Alexander

Graham Alexander has taken over as the new manager of Preston North End, departing his previous role leading League One team Bradford City. The fifty-four-year-old coach succeeds Paul Heckingbottom at the helm of a squad currently sitting second from the bottom of the Championship standings, having endured six losses across their initial eight fixtures.

Alexander previously accumulated 372 league appearances for the club during his playing career before retiring at the conclusion of the 2011-12 season at age forty, a tenure that also included a brief stint as caretaker manager. Reflecting on his return, the incoming boss described donning the training gear as surreal and shared that the homecoming held deep personal significance for his family after spending two decades connected to the area.
