Former international spin bowler Pragyan Ojha has assumed the role of head chairman for the Indian men's cricket selection panel, taking over following the conclusion of Ajit Agarkar's tenure. Ojha earned the promotion based on his seniority within the organization, having previously stepped in as interim chair after the departure on October 4.
Joining the screening committee as a new selector representing the West Zone is Ramesh Powar, whose appointment was unanimously put forward by the Cricket Advisory Committee members Ashok Malhotra and Jatin Paranjape.
Powar brings a wealth of leadership background to the panel, having previously managed the national women's squad to a continental crown at the Asia Cup alongside a silver medal performance during the Commonwealth Games, in addition to holding coaching positions with regional sides like Mumbai and Gujarat as well as the national centre of excellence. The outgoing leadership under Agarkar concluded a trophy-laden period featuring multiple multi-nation titles and continental gold medals.
The updated screening lineup now consists of Ojha leading Shiv Sundar Das, RP Singh, Ajay Ratra, and Powar.
